 Critchley Hill Architecture Inc. is located in North Bay and finds its history established in 1956 when Norman Critchley and Lucien Delean founded Critchley and Delean Architects. The original firm evolved over many years providing architectural services throughout Ontario including the coastline communities of James Bay as well as vibrant communities in Northwestern Ontario. In 1997, Ian Critchley Hill became an associate of the firm and twenty years later established the newly named architectural practice Critchley Hill Architecture.

The philosophy of the firm remains rooted in a commitment to its clientele to achieve excellence in the design of its projects. To meet this goal the professionals in the company listen to the needs of their client, collaborate and share ideas, and focus on achieving the best design solution that will lead to a project that can be constructed on budget and on time. This philosophy has facilitated the experienced team at Critchley Hill Architecture to design complex healthcare facilities, daycares, schools, post-secondary institutions, libraries, single and multi-unit residential development, religious institutions and industrial centres. Senior team members at Critchley Hill Architecture have over 40 years of experience in the industry and the knowledge of a highly technical industry is shared internally on a day to day basis.

 

For educational facilities, Critchley Hill Architecture provides in-house expertise associated with building code analysis, building envelope, interior design, furnishing selection, furniture Layouts, 3D modeling, and high resolution digital perspectives of exteriors and interior spaces.

Projects
New Consolidated Elementary School Build in Fort Frances, Ontario
The school will accommodate approximately 345 students and will be constructed on the greenfield site, adjacent to St. Francis School and the Board office, in the west end of town. The new facility will be comprised of but not limited to classrooms, gymnasium, change rooms, instrumental music room, library and supporting ancillary spaces with administration spaces. The new facility is to include all required site works, services, grading and storm water management requirements and associated play fields to support the school development. A New Childcare facility is also being added to the school.
New Sioux Lookout High School
Contributions from the Ministry of Education for the new Sioux Lookout high school total $24.7 million with total construction costs reaching $30 million including partner spaces. The construction and ultimate completion of the new facility is anticipated to take approximately two years, with an expected opening in September 2018.
