Applied Aquatic Research Ltd. (Applied) is a Calgary-based, full service environmental consultancy specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, planning, permitting, construction monitoring and environmental inspection plus water services including hydrology and hydrogeology. Applied was incorporated in Alberta in 1996 and has provided aquatic resource inventory and mitigation planning support to industry, municipalities, and private landowners/developers throughout western Canada for >23 years.
Since 2008, Applied's scope has expanded, and AAR Environmental Services* (AARES) a multidisciplinary environmental consulting division of Applied was opened. Applied now offers a broad range of environmental planning, monitoring, spill response and assessment disciplines required to support the diverse needs of our clients. AARES has provided full service, environmental planning and advice for >10 years.
Applied prides itself on its qualified, competent and experienced staff, adaptability, comprehensive safety program and standard operating procedures (SOPs). These include those pertaining to hazard assessment, journey management, data collection, QA/QC, and equipment disinfection.
Applied is Certificate of Recognition (COR)-certified, a subscriber to ISN online Health and Safety statistics, and has a comprehensive Corporate Safety Program that outlines responsibilities and accountabilities of all employees. The company carries $5,000,000 general liability insurance and $5,000,000 automobile comprehensive insurance, and is in good standing with the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) of Alberta (Account # 4032139).
